Frenchman Bay Sea Kayaking Adventure
This 4.5-hour sea kayak adventure is the best way to explore the Bay and Acadia National Park's Porcupine Islands. This adventure departs from our private docks to explore the waters of Acadia.
This is the adventure for you if you really want to explore Frenchman Bay. This adventure includes time to land on one of the Porcupine Islands to stretch your legs and have a little snack. Great wildlife sightings on this adventure.
We start this adventure, like the others, with a half hour of equipping you with the proper gear. We then proceed to the kayak docks for a quick paddle lesson. Once everyone's kayak is properly adjusted, we launch you from our specially designed launch ramp. As we paddle out of the harbor, we seem to leave behind the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor to explore some beautiful shorelines and open stretches of
water. Along the way, our guides lead you through areas where we are most likely to spot wildlife. After
paddling for a couple of hours, we pull up on an island shoreline to stretch our legs and have a quick snack. One place that we try to reach is an island known as the Hop, located at the northern end of Long Porcupine Island. Soon, we all climb back into our kayaks and work our way back while taking in breathtaking views of the mountains of Acadia National Park.
The cost is $55 per paddler.
- Upgrade from a tandem kayak to a solo kayak is available for more experienced paddlers for an additional $10 per paddler.
- Age Limit: 10 years old and a height of at least 4 foot 8 inches.
- Every child under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
