 Moonlight Sea Kayaking Adventure
BIOLUMINESCENT SEA KAYAKING ADVENTURE,
MOONLIGHT MADNESS,
PADDLING FOR LUNATICS, call it what you may...
Come join us for a 3-hour moonlight paddle. The lunar inspiration is irrefutable. Come and see for yourself! Equipment and safety concerns are addressed before we set out near dusk after a brief introduction to paddling at night. We paddle in Frenchman Bay in a small group under the careful guidance of an experienced Maine Guides and the moonlight. Broadening your lunar horizons will be an enlightening experience.
Cost: $50
The Moonlight Sea Kayaking Adventure will be running weekly
Starting after the 4th of July through till Labor Day
Group size: 12 participants or 6 kayaks maximum.
Each kayak will be equipped with a waterproof flashlight that will be set up so that it can be accessed quickly. Along with a flashlight, each kayak will also be equipped with either glow sticks or a red flashing light so that the group can be easily identified on the water as a group of kayakers.
The goal of this sea kayaking adventure is to paddle away from the lights of Bar Harbor to find a dark cove or area of water so that the paddlers on this adventure can view the bioluminescent micro-organisms that glow when the waters that they are 0n become agitated.
The peace and tranquility of the night waters can become mesmerizing. Past participants of our moonlight paddles have stated that they would have never know how beautiful paddling at night could be until they joined us on this adventure.
