Eateries & Watering Holes

Poor Boy's Gourmet - Extremely friendly service, marvelous baked stuffed haddock, save room for banofee pie. Be sure to meet Kathleen.

Cottage Street Bakery - Great coffee, popovers with blueberry jam,and boxed lunches for your daily adventures. Please be sure to sample the expanded dinner menu, which includes spaghetti and meatballs, fair fries and flame-broiled burgers, and some of the best pie in the town. Some wicked tasty!

Fish House Grill - Raw bar and mixed drinks are reason enough, but be sure to try the BBQ Ribs, Buffalo Scallops, and a Rusticator Blue.

Morning Glory Bakery - Thunderbolt coffee and I recommend that you try a piece of homemade pie for breakfast. Don't worry, we won't tell your Mom.

Mainely Meat BBQ - The pulled pork, coleslaw, potatoe salad, and the baked beans are fit for a king. Located on Rt. 3. Check out their buffet at Atlantic Brewery on Saturdays.

La Bella Vita - The view from the dining room is second to none and has the service to match. Try the meatballs.

Thirsty Whale - Although this is known as a locals bar, we strongly recommend that you stop in for the seafood sampler.

Parkacadia - Although this is a convenience store/gas station, they make the best damn steak & cheese.

Wicked Good Food - Operated out of a small shack, the home cooked goods are mouthwatering. I suggest the grandpa's delight (meatloaf sandwich).

Cafe This Way - Their breakfast is incredible! Make sure you get homemade toast and corned beef hash.

Gayln's Restaurant - Find a seat on the street-side porch, absorbing the view of Agamont Park and Frenchman Bay. enjoy the mixed seafood grill with a side of crabcakes. Save room for the warm, crusty focaccia bread!

Seafood Ketch - McMullin Rd, Bass Harbor, ME. Chef owned and operated, a family business for years. Fresh seafood, homemade breads and desserts, prompt service, with a marvelous view of Bass Harbor. A tasty meal on the harborside patio can be a tantalizing and satisfying experience.

Top of the Hill Restaurant - This restaurant is one of my newest and tastiest discoveries. The meatball appetizer (terrific!) and baked stuffed haddock are worth the ride. Delicious desserts, creative seafood entrees, Italian specialties, and prompt service. Locally owned and operated - this eatery will leave you satisfied and ready for your next visit.

Parkside Restaurant - This is my newest restaurant find, and what a pleasant suprise. Outside covered patio, great bar, rooftop dining, and a great crew make this one fine eatery. I really love the Crabby Mac(tasty and creative) and the prime rib. Locally owned and serving lunch and dinner in season. Please give this one a try soon.

Finback Alehouse - Nestled on Cottage St. in Bar Harbor, the Finback-Alehouse offers friendly service, a great selection of draft beer and excellent food. Make sure to check out the daily specials which are guarenteed to please! As if that wasn't enough, their bar has some of the nicest woodwork on the island.
