Bar Island Hike - This is a great hike but it is tidal dependant. You want to be sure that you check the tide schedule, as you have only 1 1/2 hours prior to 1 1/2 hours after low tide, to get to the island and back without getting wet. The view of Bar Harbor from the top of the hill is absolutely amazing. Spring time hikes include a stroll through a meadow of lupine flowers.

Great Head Trail - Moderate hike of 1.5 miles (round trip) with an elevation change of 145 ft.This is a very scenic hike along the rocky shoreline starting at Sand Beach and ending at Great Head.

Ocean Trail - Easy hike of 4 miles (round trip) with an elevation change of 110 ft. This path running between Sand Beach and Otter Point provides beatiful scenic ocean views, but during the busy summer months can often be rather noisy due to its location alongside the Park Loop Road. Be sure to stop at Thunder Hole and Monument Cove along the way!

Tarn Trail - Moderate hike of 1.2 miles. This trail rolls through meadows, past beaver ponds, and through woods along Otter Creek.

The Beehive Loop - Strenuous Hike of 1.5 miles (round trip) with 542 ft. of elevation change. This steep ascent hugs the cliff face and utilizes ladder rungs as hand and foot holds. It also comes with fantastic views of Frenchman Bay.
